After a lengthy discussion with eBay, it was confirmed that you CANNOT put links to any form of nudity in your ABOUT ME page even though I was assured that I could by two previous members of the support team. Members are considered "guides" and it is the seller's responsibility to refer to eBay's written policy for verification. EBay Support will not put anything in writing for this reason (I tried). EBay acknowledged that their site has numerous violations of their Mature Audiences policy, but the auctions remain because they are "unreported." Also, they are aware that sometimes sellers are targeted for reasons other than a genuine concern about children being exposed to nudity (competitors, for example). Therefore, if the seller knows who is responsible, he or she has the right to remove that individual’s auctions if they violate eBay's policy. Personally, I'd rather sculpt than be at war, so that's not an option. EBay did their best to help me remove everything from my current auction (Peter Pan Mermaid) that could possibly be used to end the auction. An outdoor photo of the mermaid did not have enough hair covering her chest (Click Here) and my ABOUT ME page must be replaced. A few other points: It's best not to make any statements just to be safe (auctions can be pulled, for instance, if you say you have complied with eBay's nudity policy). A thumbnail cannot show part of a sculpture, or be blurred or blocked in any way, and then link to a view of the item showing nudity. An auction cannot have any text suggesting that a link will lead to nudity ("for a more complete view..."). You can put a link to your website in your ABOUT ME page but cannot hint that it has nude photos of your listing. And the list goes on...
As always, eBay was courteous and anxious to help, and I hope I've got it straight this time. They mentioned this sort of thing comes in waves, so hopefully it will burn out on its own.
